Even though Sarti constitutes a residential area less than 100 years, it has a rich history to narrate. Its residents, refugees from the island of Afisia in the Minor Asia, have migrated to this area, which greatly resembles their old village in the Sea of Marmaras, seeking a new homeland.
In the old primary school (1928), where the cultural club of Sarti has founded and operates the Folklore Museum, you can learn about our history through every day utensils of that era, texts or photographs. The Museum is open on Saturdays and Sundays.

Metohi was the ‘’home’’ of the refugees for about two years, when they reached the area until they have built their own residences. Unfortunately for the time being, it is not permitted to be visited in its interior but you can see its building and the surrounding. A few metres above lies the small church of Saint George where every year on its memorial day, the cultural club of Sarti organises traditional festivities.

As Sithonia retains mostly its natural beauty, departing from Sunrise country you can enjoy the magnificent tours of the mountain Of Dragoudeli, within greenery and spectacular landscape. You can enjoy the breathtaking view of the three peninsulas of Halkidiki from the top as well as the 2000 years old tree of Itamos, which is retained as a Preserved Monument of Nature.

For those who have some or little experience in scuba diving, there is a number of diving schools, which will either help you for your first attempt or accompany you in your adventure. Adrenaline lovers can enjoy water sports at a very close distance from our hotel. The water sports centre next to the Sunrise beach bar offers windsurfing, catamaran (lessons can be taken, as well as diplomas after the contemplation of lessons), or surfing and other fun games and water ski. Discover the beautiful complex of small islands of Vourvourou and its small isolated beaches with crystal clear water by renting a boat. A boat licence is not required.

Porto Carras vineyard is the greatest biological vineyard in Greece. It is found 35 km away from Sarti and there you are given the opportunity both to tour through the vineyards and also to taste different varieties of wine.
